We’re going to release 25 different albums to celebrate these 25 years of absolute craziness. New albums, vinyl rereleases, compilations and a few special products. Some of the things are already decided, like the homage we want to pay to LE MANS, “25 canciones de LE MANS” (25 Songs by LE MANS), covered by some of our favorite groups. There will also be a compilation of 25 favorite songs from recent months from groups on other labels; the new rerelease of FAMILY’s album; the compilation “Hong Kong” that was never released; and a rerelease of LA CASA AZUL or LOS FLECHAZOS, for example.

In 2003, “Un Soplo En El Corazón”, the FAMILY album that definitively shifted the evolution of pop music made in Spain and that became a landmark of a cult group like few we will enjoy in this lifetime, had its 10-year release anniversary. To celebrate that sweet heart attack, Elefant Records, in collaboration with Rockdelux magazine, released an album in homage to the original, with diverse artists, both new and renowned, giving brave, daring, revered versions of the songs that made up such an inimitable album.

Now that the album has reached its twentieth anniversary, so that it is available to everyone, everywhere, especially to the new generations, Elefant Records is rereleasing it in digital format, where we will once again be able to enjoy these daring and curious versions. Like the arid poetry of ANA D, the immense sweetness of LA BUENA VIDA, FANGORIA’s double homage, or the dreamy melancholy of the versions by LOS PLANETAS, AMA, PARADE, APENINO, and CHUCHO. 

 ASTRUD, the most daring with their priceless live vocal revision of “El Bello Verano” adorned with the eternal melody of “The Pink Panther” soundtrack, and LA CASA AZUL’s powerful version with a fun, imaginative Shibuya-Kei rhythm, also participated on the album. We have been impatient for news about CORAZÓN ever since we got our hands on their second album, “Nuevo Futuro” in 2009, and we have been anxiously awaiting a new release from Carlos and Nando. We finally got what we wanted, in a digital single with a cover of a Roberto Carlos song as the title track, as well as two of their own songs. “Me Quiero Casar Contigo” belongs to the Brasilian singer’s early period, and it’s an exciting example of creativity and addictive melodies.  Between the 70’s styled choruses of LAS CORAZONADA and the keyboard arrangements of Antonio Galvañ (PARADE), those touches of personality that Ibon Errazkin’s production work gives are unwrapped to simultaneously create an homage to YOUNG MARBLE GIANTS. The song keeps the catchy spirit of the original but also adds a playful perspective and is full of fantasy. “Un Final Feliz Para Este Cuento” is an apology turned into song, sent in code to the person who understands the message. Within the psychedelic melodies and an air of classic romanticism a universal message of forgiveness and regret unfolds, done with surprising humility and tenderness. Closing the single is “La Fiebre de Carlos”, a song that already appeared on the farewell compilation for the Annika label. CORAZÓN are Carlos López (vocals) and Nando Quesada (vocals, guitar and programs), a romantic and melancholy pop duo that made us fall in love with them in 2005 with their superb debut “Melodrama”. To celebrate the holidays, we have finally made our long-awaited wish come true by creating a festive holiday single to give away to our mates!

With this single we would like to give thanks to everyone who has helped us througout the years, especially fans of the label, without their help none of this would be imposible. A special single with songs which will make us forget all the hard times and help us ring in the New Year with bells and whistles.

Four songs from the latest signed Elefant artists. The most recent one, THE SCHOOL, a project of 8 restless musicians from Cardiff which put out their first song precisely on this single. Last September, they packed their bags and moved off to London to record, under the guidance of Ian Catt, seven delicious songs which will be put out in two singles at the beginning of the year, a sweet and exquisite carol with a very 50’s holiday pop feel to it. Caitlin and Sauna [they are only 6 years old!], our kids HELEN LOVE show their adoration of Joey Ramone is more alive than ever and continues throughout the generations, they create a snowman out of Joey Ramone and this way, Santa Claus won’t have any problems finding them!! When we can still hear the echoes of the enormous success achieved by LA CASA AZUL in their recent visit to Korea, new and spectacular news come over from that side of the world. Between the 14th and the 18th of May, Guille Milkyway performed along with Elefant Records fellow artists CORAZÓN in a bunch of largely-attended shows for the Korean crowd (as you can check in the attached pictures and press clipping from the Korea Times, where Guille is departing with his Korean fans).

Just back from Korea, we learn about some fresh news that show the level of popularity LA CASA AZUL has achieved in this country: cosmetics brand DHC Korea has chosen the song "Galletas" by LA CASA AZUL for their latest TV ad! LA CASA AZUL is being played in all Korean TV sets, its catchy melody entering all the Korean houses on a daily basis!

After the videoclip of the song "Padova", "Jugando con el corazón" is the new song chosen for the second videoclip taken from "Melodrama", debut album by Spanish pop duo CORAZÓN. The videoclip has been directed by Nacho Martín, from Spanish visual collective User T38 (responsible too of the videoclips by LE MANS and SINGLE), and it’s inspired in the life of British painter Francis Bacon (1909-1991), a crucial name in the English art from the 20th century.

Especially, the new video by CORAZÓN is inspired in Bacon‘s relationship with his couple, George Dyer, as told in John Maybury‘s movie "Love is the devil" (1998). Bacon met Dyer when the latter entered his atelier aiming to steal anything worth in it, and instead of this he ended up sharing a bed with the painter. From then on they started a cruel, winding, stormy relationship which is dreamily, simbolically mirrored in the images on "Jugando con el corazón", a new videoclip that goes further than being just a visual vehicle to go along with a beautiful pop song. As one could expect due to their success there, the recent reissue of "El sonido efervescente de LA CASA AZUL" (debut mini-album by the Guille Milkyway-produced band, in a luxurious re-release that also includes their three first demos and other rarities) is achieving an enormous success in the Asian countries. Japanese record shops keep sending new orders for the record, and now Korean label Happy Robot is going to release it in Korea.

Happy Robot had already released "Tan simple como el amor", LA CASA AZUL’s first long-player, and this new Korean release will coincide with three live shows that will be offered by both CORAZÓN y LA CASA AZUL in Korean land, between May 14th and 18th.To begin with, both bands will play on May 14th at the Naini Island Festival, a free entrance open air festival that goes on during two months in an amphitheatre in Nami Island. The next show will take place on May 16th as a part of the Latin Music Festival, coorganized by the Spanish Embassy in Seoul and the Spanish Department at the University of Korea: a benefit show for orphan children and teenagers. LA CASA AZUL and CORAZÓN will be the special guests at this festival to be held at Inchon Memorial Hall, a thousand people capacity pavilion in Koryo (University of Korea). Next November, Elefant will release the long awaited debut album by CORAZÓN (“heart”, in Spanish): eleven songs featuring some early hits in the Spanish independent scene as their indie anthem “No quiero cambiar”.CORAZÓN is a romantic, melancholic pop duo, which counted their fans by many hundreds even before recording this album, among them people like Radio 3’s DJ Juan de Pablos or Guille Milkyway from LA CASA AZUL. Their first demo tape (recorded at a friend’s with the only help of a Play Station and a four-track recorder) was chosen as best demo of the year by the listeners of Viaje a los Sueños Polares radio show, and CORAZÓN was chosen as well as best newcomer band in 2002.CORAZÓN is Carlos (vocals) and Nando (vocals, guitar and programming). They met in February 2001 in Padova (Italy), whilst studying Psychology with an Erasmus fund.
