Happily enough, jungle derived into impossible, evolutive hybrids,
joining in some cases some adventurous trip-hop, as shows us Parisian DJ
Jérome Mestre, who under the name EXTRA LUCID offers us the second reference
of our "silver series", mainly dedicated to the club atmospheres.
This fantastic "Planet Hetvia" places the work of Stereophonic Elefant
Dance Recordings on the arty side of drumnbass, or Artcore -which we can
compare with 4HERO or SPRING HEEL JACK-, for its perfect conception of
abstraction and atmospheres, as for its intentional appropriation of techno
languages and a friendly isolationism, an attitude which has lately been
called "abstract musical science" by a part of the critic. Nevertheless, the
outcome is a fantastic maxi-single showing a flashing EXTRA LUCID, on three
pieces which exude an exquisite incense of polyrhythmic fragrances, soaked
with a highly contemporary feeling for the most avant-garde clubs of the
dance planet.
