“Noviembre, sopla revuelto” (November, trouble is brewing)… This is how Ana’s voice started off “Fiesta”, LA BIEN QUERIDA’s second album, and this is precisely the month in which her eagerly awaited third album will be released. That song was also the one that, without meaning to, led to the first steps towards LA BIEN QUERIDA’s new musical universe. With the new album, “Ceremonia”, we can shout it out to everyone in the world that we have one of the most personal projects of the country here, an ever-shifting project that evolves from album to album and that keeps its roots in those incredible lyrics and those contagious melodies. The new album has songs that expand and grow in search of darker, more electronic sounds, winding up on some occasions in an authentic symphony of infinite noise that is cold and penetrating.

“Ceremonia” is an album that crosses NEW ORDER and KRAFTWERK, MY BLOODY VALENTINE and LOVE AND ROCKETS, kraut-rock and post-punk, love and revenge, beauty and pain. On November 5th, we will finally be able to discover all of the ingredients that comprise this great, opaque and blurry ceremony that Ana and David have been cooking slowly over a low flame like witches from the middle ages. Song: Los Chicos Hoy Saltarán A La Pista (LA CASA AZUL)

It took many months of work but we can finally announce, with much joy and satisfaction, the release of “L-FUN 45 (Summer of love)”, the first independent musical videogame for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, a fun application that will get all of the label’s fans excited. The videogame is full of the Elefant universe and our groups. It was created and developed by Dolores Entertainment, a young and promising company that develops mobile phone applications and videogames, and that shares Elefant’s spirit of independent work and passion for music. Dolores Entertainment, who recently celebrated their first anniversary as a company, started their voyage with more classic-styled games with a more direct dynamic, like “Vectron” or “Spanish Chiringuito”. Now, they are official providers for TV3 and they are working on some different, very interesting projects that we’ll be hearing about soon, but L-FUN 45 is their most ambitious project so far.

L-FUN 45 is an interactive musical, a game where the music isn’t just an excuse to smash buttons, but instead it tells us a love story. The love story begins with a break-up, and includes friendship and summertime adventures. Here at Elefant Records we were sure that LA BIEN QUERIDA’s new album was going to be a total celebration. Anyone who doubted that Ana Fernández-Villaverde could repeat the huge surprise that “Romancero” was with “Fiesta” have forgotten their lapse and are now elegizing the new album. And those who have already heard the new album are as crazy about it as we are. At Rockdelux, where “Fiesta” is the album of the month, Nando Cruz says that the album “certifies that the debut album was the beginning of one of the most admirable projects of our time”. On the website Je Ne Sais Pop, they affirm that LA BIEN QUERIDA “has worked on and been more careful with the lyrics, and while they are more complex now they still maintain their capacity to be so personal and intimate that we can identify with them from the very first listen”. And those are just a few examples of the album’s incredible reception both from fans and specialized critics.

We’re celebrating this success with the release of a limited-edition red-vinyl single (which will also have its corresponding digital release) that has one of the most outstanding and attention-getting songs of the album as its star, “Queridos Tamarindos”. 1“Noviembre”: We start things off with clapping and the box drum, the synthesizer comes in little by little and an Arabic cry sets the boats sailing and starts the blood pumping. What better way of creating the feeling of intense intimacy than with the strongest contrasts: “El frio y el calor se están tocando / cogidos de la mano paseando” (Hot and cold are touching / walking around holding hands). Setting a sepia tone that we’ll never forget. Two minutes and we are already beginning to melt.

Ana has surrounded herself with friends to create “Fiesta” and give the final brushstrokes to an album that is going to be timeless. Pablo Zamora was in charge of the photography; Eric Coll and Sergio Ibañez, who founded Setenta, their own design studio in 2007, designed the album cover; Luis Cerveró, one of the most important and innovative audiovisual producers, made the video for “Hoy”, the album’s first video; and David Rodríguez (BEEF, LA ESTRELLA DE DAVID) was once again in charge of the impeccable album production and arrangements, proving his special, eclectic and unique talent for blowing up Ana’s extraordinary compositions.

On February 14th the digital format of “Hoy”, the advanced single for the new album, will be released, and the song’s video will be released at the same time.

March 7th is the date for the album release in digital format on all Internet platforms, and on March 22nd the album will be released physically in stores. As always, the label’s fans and our regular online buyers can get the album in physical format from the online store 15 days before it’s released in stores, so on March 7th in addition to the digital release, the album will also be available on vinyl and CD through Elefant.
