We’re finally opening our own YouTube channel! There was tons and tons of material to put up (and really, there’s still so much more), and Internet users can finally subscribe to the Elefant Records page on the most famous and visited video website in the world, which can be accessed from this web address: http://www.youtube.com/elefantrecords
For the channel’s official inauguration we’ve put up various new videos, some previously unreleased. You can enjoy the exclusive new video-clip of CORAZON’s “Nuevo Futuro” or SPEEDMARKET’s newest single, “No Drama”, which will be released in July and which we’re releasing the splendid new video-clip of in advance. There are a ton of LA CASA AZUL videos, plus interviews, live videos, reports… but the most exciting thing, for the moment, is definitely the video-clip of the English version of “La Revolution Sexual”. You can also find reports and interviews with COOPER that you most certainly haven’t seen, as well as three songs recorded live for the MySpace special, including the song “Mi Universo”, which is a completely new song not even included on Alex‘s latest work, “Aeropuerto”.
We have more than 100 video-clips from Elefant groups available (yes, all the videos from LA CASA AZUL, COOPER, CAMERA OBSCURA, NOSOTRÄSH, SINGLE, HEAVENLY, LOS FLECHAZOS, LUCKY SOUL, LA BIEN QUERIDA …) and a ton of extra pr [ Read more ]

Many are the ensembles who try their take on the sound of modern grooves, but unfortunately very few really devote their time to find a refreshing and cheerful style. After a twelve-year uninterrupted career, LOS SOBERANOS, ultimate representatives of the party lifestyle, are still proud bearers of the flag of fun. For all these years, they’ve given heart and soul to cover other bands’ hits and to recover the cream of Sixties music. “¡Fiesta sin fin!”, their new album, brings a new step forward, including five infectious tunes of their own that will leave no one indifferent: “Guapa”, “Pero te quiero”, “Un hombre tranquilo”, “La, La, La” (not to be mistaken with the Eurovision tune by Massiel) and “Siroco”.
The rest of the songs in the record, nine dynamic covers, frankly showing off their complete lack of pretentiousness and how they love to mess about. We find LOS SOBERANOS taking Manolo Díaz for a few drinks (“Bibí”), daringly having their take on a ballad by the great Rafael Martos “Raphael” (“Estuve enamorado”), paying tribute to their beloved BRINCOS (“Pareces gitana”), plunging headlong into the waters with MICKY Y LOS TONYS (No sé nadar”), vindicating LOS PASOS (“Nací de pie”), reminding us of a forceful tune by LOS HURACANES (“El calcetín”), deciding on Italian tonalit [ Read more ]

Asian markets don’t mean just Japan and thereabouts, although it is well known that Elefant Records has had an important presence in the Nippon market from a long time ago. Juice Magazine (www.juiceonline.com) is the most important music/clubbing magazine in Singapore (now also established in Indonesia), with an estimated readership that reaches 1.2 million.
We don’t know if they’re aware of the "Elefant Juice" compilation we released many years ago, but the thing is that they have just released a special feature on Elefant Records on their Label Junkie section, where they recommend their readers about the best and most interesting pop record labels around the world.
This is a new prove of the passion and level of acknowledgement Elefant Records receives from our faithful following in South East Asia, a place where we have always felt at home. [ Read more ]

Autopop is Elefant Records’s own sublabel, through which our aim is to help and work with bands and artists who share our label’s philosophy and aesthetics and are ready to self-produce their recordings taking advantage of our structure. We can’t release everything we like, but we can help release a lot of recordings that are really worth seeing the light of day. That is undoubtedly the case with the two new references on Autopop: the long awaited first long-player by LOS SOBERANOS, and the great soundtrack from the movie “See you later Cowabunga”.
“Maratón ye-yé”, the album by LOS SOBERANOS, features fifteen cover versions from the most famous artists in Spanish and international pop music from the 60’s. Songs by Bruno Lomas, Juan y Junior, Rocío Dúrcal, LOS MUSTANG, Arthur Alexander, Caterina Caselli, etc… Fifteen direct, simple songs, fresh and full of humour; fifteen songs that will appeal to all and any kinds of public, from the toughest of the rockers to the most respectable of the family mothers. The record features as well a videoclip where LOS SOBERANOS perform “Yo no tengo a nadie”, originally by the great Spanish crooner Raphael.
“See you later Cowabunga”, on the other hand, ” is a tribute to the music films from the 60’s, specially to legendary Spanish film “Un, dos, tres al escondite inglés”, by cult director Iván Zulueta [ Read more ]

Popland and Cinemaspop are two stores (actually three, because Popland has two different premises) from the Malasaña area in Madrid, but they both provide half Spain and abroad with aesthetic pleasures. In Popland, an enormous variety of accessories, garnishing, furniture, records and pop memorabilia on the whole can be found, whereas in Cinemaspop, pop culture comes on the top of movie going and cinema love. Two colouristic concepts with a passionate interest for pop’s different sides, that were to meet Elefant Records’ music.
Both stores have just released the album "Popland 25 hit parade", including that number of successful songs from Elefant Records catalogue: COOPER, LA CASA AZUL, CAMERA OBSCURA, BERLANGA, LE MANS, HEAVENLY or JUNIPER MOON, among others, playing the perfect soundtrack to the lush aesthetic of this retro consumption’s paradise.
