We’re finally opening our own YouTube channel! There was tons and tons of material to put up (and really, there’s still so much more), and Internet users can finally subscribe to the Elefant Records page on the most famous and visited video website in the world, which can be accessed from this web address: http://www.youtube.com/elefantrecords

For the channel’s official inauguration we’ve put up various new videos, some previously unreleased. You can enjoy the exclusive new video-clip of CORAZON’s “Nuevo Futuro” or SPEEDMARKET’s newest single, “No Drama”, which will be released in July and which we’re releasing the splendid new video-clip of in advance. There are a ton of LA CASA AZUL videos, plus interviews, live videos, reports… but the most exciting thing, for the moment, is definitely the video-clip of the English version of “La Revolution Sexual”. You can also find reports and interviews with COOPER that you most certainly haven’t seen, as well as three songs recorded live for the MySpace special, including the song “Mi Universo”, which is a completely new song not even included on Alex‘s latest work, “Aeropuerto”.

We have more than 100 video-clips from Elefant groups available (yes, all the videos from LA CASA AZUL, COOPER, CAMERA OBSCURA, NOSOTRÄSH, SINGLE, HEAVENLY, LOS FLECHAZOS, LUCKY SOUL, LA BIEN QUERIDA …) and a ton of extra pr [ Read more ]

Many followers of Spanish indie-pop were eagerly waiting for MIRAFIORI’s debut full-length, and now it’s here it’s for many more one of the best pop records of the year. Songs that are full of romanticism and eternal, classic melodies. "Agujeros en la arena" (Holes in the sand) is one of those melodies, and also the title of the song chosen for the first videoclip in MIRAFIORI’s career. The video has been directed by Paco Casado and Richard García from Producciones Entre Líneas (usual suspects when it comes to videos from our label: they have put to images in the past the music of CORAZÓN, ENTRE RÍOS, TREMBLING BLUE STARS, NIZA, LA MONJA ENANA, ME ENVENENO DE AZULES, IBON ERRAZKIN…). The costumes have been done by Rocabert, young and gifted upcoming Spanish fashion designer, and the female counterpart to Nacho Fernández is young actress and TV presenter Loreta Sáez (currently one of the freshest faces on Cuatro TV in Spain). On a short cameo we can see also Gonzalo Portellano (founder member of MIRAFIORI along with Nacho, who is now back in the live line-up of the band) and Guille Mostaza, producer of the album and also MIRAFIORI’s bass player live. They are the policemen who stop the car driven by Nacho through dreamy, autumnal landscapes, and let him follow his way when he shows them a French edition of Baudelaire‘s "Les fleurs du mal". A good passport to drive around a w [ Read more ]

After the release of the debut album "No podemos volver a casa", we can at least announce that MIRAFIORI will play live with a full band line-up the songs of this wonderful record. The line-up formed around Nacho Fernandez (vocals and guitar) features the comeback of Gonzalo Portellano (former member of MIRAFIORI during the demo years and the first EP) on guitar, plus Guille Mostaza (from Spanish pop band ELLOS and producer of the album on bass; Ana Gonzalez (ex VACACIONES) on keyboards; and Anton Suarez (ex PURE, among others) on drums.

MIRAFIORI will premiere this live line-up on November 1st at the venue SIROCO in Madrid, and we will also enjoy the songs from "No podemos volver a casa" with a full band sound on November 16th at the venue El Sol in Madrid, where MIRAFIORI will play support for CAMERA OBSCURA.

It’s been four long years since Spanish band MIRAFIORI released "Cinco minutos", their debut EP on Spanish indie label Annika, and with it they seduced indie-pop fans everywhere with beautiful songs as the title track (fifth best song from 2002 in the readers’ poll on influential Spanish mag Rockdelux) or "Cosas que es mejor no hacer", chosen by Radio 3’s DJ Julio Ruiz as his June 2002 song on his "Disco Grande" show. Now, after a long period of recording due to his residence outside Spain, we are glad to annouce the release of "No podemos volver a casa", the long-player debut by Nacho Fernández‘s project. A record that is formed by delicious songs that move along our own Donosti Sound from Spain (the golden age of Spanish indie-pop) and the best of alltime British indie sound, or to be more accurate, between FAMILY and THE FIELD MICE o BRIAN.

The record has been recorded in Madrid with the help of Guille Mostaza (a member of the pop band ELLOS and producer of PORTONOVO, among others), and after the demise of the Annika record label it will be released through Autopop this next summer. On it we will find songs which belong to different moments in the group’s history, from the first demos (a new version of "Estamos desafinados"), the months following the first EP in Madrid ("Recuerdos del lago artificial", "Luciérnagas", "Nosotros y nuestros abrigos", &q [ Read more ]
