TRACKLIST: 01 Follas Novas  02 ¿Por Quecategoría  03 Lúa Descolorida  04 Paz Desexada

After that precious Christmas collaboration in 2019, the combination of Lia Pamina’s delicious voice and Charlie Mysterio’s and Roger Arias’ (OS PEREGRINOS) elegance and inspiration is back, to give us this small, exquisite gem. This limited-edition vinyl Single is inspired by the work of the Galician poet and novelist Rosalía de Castro, where once again folk sounds, Brazilian music, and infinitely exquisite arrangements come together. The singer from Castellón lifts the Galician writer’s words to the heavens, and the result is, yet again, a dream for even the most hard-hearted music lovers.

“Follas Novas” could be used to define what beauty is. It is so simple it’s disarming. Delicate arpeggios, dream-like harmonies, a pristine chorus that perfectly crowns the whole song’s meaning. Which is nothing other than the beautiful idiosyncrasy of living. It is a lucid and magisterial demonstration that when poetry and music come together hand in hand, their association can be as powerful as that of image and sound. But the triumvirate reaches even higher levels with the animated video by Raquel Calvo, who once again makes a statement in sensitivity, esthetic fantasy and creativity. The perfect images for “Follas Novas”. It is impossible to escape the excitement.

We are in love. We cannot think of any better way to say it. Every new thing from OS PEREGRINOS, the band formed by Charlie Mysterio (LOS CARAMELOS, among many other groups) and Roger De Flor (OS SILVESTRES, BANG 74) inevitably gets us right in the heart. All the names that come to mind with each new release are from our own personal favorites. They are capable of clearing a path to the most absolute sensitivity, with easy, everyday words, like FAMILY and SOLERA (those two male voices harmonizing are probably at least partially responsible), their artistic connections, stylistic play, their ability to reflect scenes of the day-to-day with irony and affection remind of us our beloved SINGLE… And we could go on, but we have two new songs, and we are really excited to tell you about them.

“Musas De Ons” is a single inspired by Ons island, that Atlantic gem just off the coast of Pontevedra. The song that is the title track of this new “peregrine” adventure has those roots that make OS PEREGRINOS’s music so special, the Galician folk shines through the inspiration the marine breeze awakens, with those chords developing delicious harmonies. It is amazing. The second song on the single is “Playa (Yo Y Mi Sombra)”, based on the poem by the poet from Málaga, Manuel Altolaguirre that he dedicated to his companion from the Generation of 27, Federico García Lorca. It moves to the beat of reggaeton, with a dub bass, exquisite [ Read more ]

Elefant Records’ “New Adventures In Pop” collection has been giving a first chance to countless projects coming both from within and from outside Spanish territory. Groups that are now well established, like PAPA TOPO, BAND À PART, LOS BONSÁIS, KOKOSHCA, EL PALACIO DE LINARES, BELLE GHOUL, AXOLOTES MEXICANOS and Lia Pamina, among many others, all got their start with this collection.

And now it’s time for two old friends who are starting a new path. And the thing is that OS PEREGRINOS’ music is like a road movie. These two characters with so much personality within the national pop scene are Charlie Mysterio (LOS CARAMELOS, among many others bands) and Roger De Flor (OS SILVESTRES, BANG 74), who get to know each other based on a series of “pilgrimages” between Galicia and Madrid. What started with Roger testing his luck and asking Charlie for help on a song has turned into a series of exchanges, trips, shifts, kilometers, and so, so much inspiration. The result is this “Canto Peregrino”, which is a gem that transports you far beyond the ground covered by our two protagonists, and which will be released as a 500-copy limited-edition grey, 10” vinyl. This Mini-LP gets things started with a delicious instrumental song that gives the album its title. It’s like a hymn for passersby, evoking the landscapes of Galician sea inlets in the precious harmonies and traditional percussion. Thejourneybegins [ Read more ]
