The Stereophonic Elefant Dance Recordings silver series are honoured with
a very special guest, belonging to that world élite of electronic music
where only a few chosen geniuses can be included: SCANNER, with three
exclusive songs for our label.
The project of Englishman Robin Rimbaud is well known and respected
worldwide for different reasons: in the world of pop hes known for his
collaborations in the latest records by Björk and Bryan Ferry, among others;
in the experimental music scene, SCANNER is a myth which has surpassed the
underground to reach a wider audience with his famous use of the scanner to
randomly intercept phone calls, manipulate them and get to a new, exciting
artistic outcome, and hes known as well because of his work as a programmer
in the experimental nights held at Londons ICA (Institute Of Contemporary
Arts); as for the techno scene, SCANNER is a highly reputed remixer (he
remixed SILVANIA in their latest CD "Delay Tambor") and a renown DJ.
His direct knowledge of the dancefloor secrets is evident in "Move To
Choose", the title song of these three samples of his creation in the
danceable music field, leaving aside experimentation for awhile to let
himself be taken by the catharsis of the dancefloor in a 4×4 without pity.
The B-side, more disturbing and dark, features the breakbeats and
thriller atmosphere of the splendid "The Weeping System" and the more
ambient "Conal Stone".
Three essential pieces in the repertoire of any disc-jockey, and ideal at
the same time to listen at home.
