We finally have the whole thing. The TELECLUB EP produced by LEFTEE and with cover art by Olaya Pedrayes (AXOLOTES MEXICANOS) is finished. We had already heard the fresh, summery, concise, and lively techno-pop of “Al Final Del Verano”. We have also heard the festive and simultaneously melancholic spirit of “El Karry”, like the hangover from an unforgettable Saturday. But the EP is rounded out with two surprising songs. “Vibrar” pulls from the epic and electronic for an exercise in marvelous, luminous techno-punk. What a shot of energy. It is impossible not to feel like you’re on top of the world after listening. And the pure, hard post-punk takes center stage with “El Centro De Atención”, with unstoppable power, pure rage and spite. Four solid, addictive hits that make this barely 10-minute-long EP a hotbed of post-millennial energy, transmitting that euphoria you feel when it seems like nothing can go wrong, when it seems like the only thing in the world that matters is that very moment.

After “El Karry”, we are bringing you the second advance single from the imminent new EP by TELECLUB, “Recordarás Mi Nombre”. This time, “Al Final Del Verano” gives us another great example of their fresh, lively, colorful and direct techno-pop. It is a new ode to hedonism, unforgettable moments, and escapism: “Y esperaremos otro año / La distancia no me hará olvidar / Para siempre guardaré todas las fotos que hice este verano” (And we’re waiting for another year / The distance won’t make me forget / I’ll always keep all the pictures I took this summer). With the production work by LEFTEE and cover art again by Olaya from AXOLOTES MEXICANOS, Daniel, Juanjo and Andrea leave us with the sweet taste of honey on our lips, waiting for their EP to arrive. And until then, we will be dancing.

TELECLUB has new songs. After two outstanding hits like “Xiki Yokse” and “Mi Crush Del Autobús”, they’re back with “El Karry” as an advance of a new 4-song EP that will be called “Recordarás Mi Nombre”. Drum machines, synthesizers, synth-pop, electropop. And, of course, guitars with distortion and overflowing euphoria. In fact, that’s what “El Karry” talks about – a Saturday night that starts off like any other Saturday night and ends up being something special, unique, unforgettable. And they really get it right with the melodies, this time with a bubble gum spirit and that chorus to sing at the top of your lungs “Salir con mis amigas al Karry, hoy” (Go out with my friends to Karry, tonight), which is exactly what they recorded on their phones with their whole crew the night this song was born. Because, who said you can’t combine going out and writing songs at the same timecategoría

And with this single, there is a music video that matches the theme perfectly: a three-minute long “The Hangover”, psychedelic, comic, surreal, where one of our protagonists, after a day of partying, tries to reconstruct what happened the previous night. It is a song meant to be an anthem, that can win over fans of ALIZZZ as well as of 9CKLES, and where the production by LEFTEE (Toxic Pop, LABORDE, NEVVER) and the cover art, again by Olaya (AXOLOTES [ Read more ]

After that surprising “Xiki Yokse” they made themselves known with, Dani, Juanjo and Andrea are back from Valdavida (León), with a new song, where they lay out their solid lyrics full of self-confident ease, and a very energetic exercise in punk-pop. “Mi Crush Del Autobús” sounds like a hit from the title alone, and as if we could expect anything less, it talks about that strange situation that is both exciting and uncomfortable, when two people’s eyes meet on the bus and it seems like they could be something more than just two strangers. And it does it with freshness, ease, good rhythms and a certain acerbic tone. And the marvelous chorus, hyper-melodic, addictive. And that’s what we see in the video directed by Santi Capuz, where our protagonists ride the city bus to the rhythm of the song, while evoking that special moment. The single is produced, mixed and mastered by LEFTEE, from the Valencian Toxic Pop collective, who has been very prolific and inspired lately. The cover art, once again, is by Olaya (AXOLOTES MEXICANOS), showing off how well she moves in these grounds, beyond composing and performing.

Here at Elefant, we continue promoting new groups, the ones that send us their songs and make us feel like there is still so much left to discover and feel. And our latest discovery is TELECLUB, three friends who grew up together in Valdavida (León) and who have written really amazing and special songs like this “Xiki Yokse”. It is one of those perfect songs (that includes the technical work of Lorenzo Matellán), high voltaje electronic indie pop, with a classic structure but that really hits the bulls eye: verse, bridge in minor keys and that triumphant opening into a chorus that you need to sing all the time. A catchy line, that you identify with, that you quickly make your own. And the thing is, “Xiki Yokse” has the makings of getting stuck in our heads like the great generational songs written by artists like HELEN LOVE, LOS FRESONES REBELDES, JUNIPER MOON, THE PRIMITIVES and THE AISLERS SET. And what better than a video to introduce this Digital Single, that also introduces us to our three stars (and they directed the video themselves): Dani, Juanjo and Andrea, in the outskirts of their town, playing with the contrasts.  The snow-covered forest, a glittering stage with disco balls, a Mercedes skidding around, the group singing. In 3/4 format with super-8 textures. And to confirm the level that TELECLUB is playing at, that cover by Olaya from AXOLOTES MEXICANOS, carefree, colorful, irreverent. Listen to it, watch it, en [ Read more ]
