Tell Me Why Elefant Records
The Ruskettes are a trio of Shangri-Las clones from Tulsa, formed in 2010 who took their name from their songwriter, Chris Rusk. Tell Me Why is an enjoyable 60s girlgroup style effort, a sort of tinny indiepop version of the Ronettes. The lo-fi production and corny lyrics help to ensure you don't take the record too seriously and it's definitely one for fans of The School and the Carrots.
Now do I get a prize for not using the phrases 'candy coated' or 'saccharine sweet'…?
