We already announced a few weeks ago that one of the most incredible festivals in the international panorama, the British Indietracks, had decided to pay homage to Elefant Records for their 20th anniversary, letting us organize the main stage in honor of the occasion. So, the line-up is finally, definitely confirmed, and pay attention because the two last-minute confirmations are spectacular: first, STEREO TOTAL, the French-German electro-pop duo and one of the most exciting bands you can see live; and second, the Sunday headliners are TEENAGE FANCLUB. The band of Norman Blake, author of such enduring hymns as “Sparky’s dream” and “The concept”, and of incomparable discs like “Thirteen”, “Grand Prix” and “Bandwagonesque”, will play us a set with their greatest hits that will serve as a culmination of one of the most amazing weeks we could have ever dreamed of. ELEFANT RECORDS TURNS 20 [1989-2009]
We’re going to England to celebrate our 20th anniversary at the Indietracks Festival, and the same weekend in Spain the ContemPopranea Festival will also be celebrating our birthday by paying homage to our label!
The Indyspensable festival in Madrid gave us the incredible gift of dedicating an entire day to Elefant this past June 12th, and other festivals like Fuengirola Pop Weekend or Lemon Pop will pay special homage to our label in their next editions of the festivals.
We want to thank everyone for having always been behind us! We feel really happy to have lasted all these years with our philosophy and way of understanding the music world, helping groups that excite us, who are on the sidelines of trends and the industry. None of this would have been possible without the label’s FANS, who have supported us all these years. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

The British festival Indietracks is paying homage to Elefant Records for our twentieth birthday, giving us control of the organization of the main stage as a present. Indietracks, whose third edition will take place July 24th, 25th and 26th in an old railway station in Butterley (Derbyshire county), has turned into a worldwide, can’t-miss event for fans of the best of indie pop, having brought such bands as Darren Hayman (HEFNER), THE WEEDING PRESENT, COMET GAIN and LOS CAMPESINOS! to previous editions. This year the leap in the festival’s importance and size is considerable, with a total of five stages and an incredible quantity of bands and DJs. That’s why Elefant has been so conscientious (and this is the first time an independent Spanish label organizes a stage at an international festival) to choose unforgettable names, many of which are still unrevealed surprises, including a headliner. We’re finally opening our own YouTube channel! There was tons and tons of material to put up (and really, there’s still so much more), and Internet users can finally subscribe to the Elefant Records page on the most famous and visited video website in the world, which can be accessed from this web address: http://www.youtube.com/elefantrecords
For the channel’s official inauguration we’ve put up various new videos, some previously unreleased. You can enjoy the exclusive new video-clip of CORAZON’s “Nuevo Futuro” or SPEEDMARKET’s newest single, “No Drama”, which will be released in July and which we’re releasing the splendid new video-clip of in advance. There are a ton of LA CASA AZUL videos, plus interviews, live videos, reports… but the most exciting thing, for the moment, is definitely the video-clip of the English version of “La Revolution Sexual”. “I don’t think airports are transient places. For me, they are a starting point and a final destination. Origin and destination. Start and finish. The beginning of an adventure, that seems full of feelings and experiences to still to discover, or the end of the road, that asks you to go over everything you’ve experienced since you started out. I like to think that this album is like that: a one-way ticket for those who don’t already know COOPER and also a photo album to look back over these last years for those who have traveled with us”. Cooper remains at number 1 on the charts for yet another week (its the seventh week now!). "Lemon Pop," the new COOPER single could not have asked for a better journey, from its release and for seven consecutive weeks, it remains at NUMBER 1!
Few indie artists have managed to reach number 1 and even less have maintained this status for so many consecutive weeks headlining the Singles List.

Throughout the first week on sale, the new COOPER single, "Lemon Pop" has gone directly to the number one spot on the Singles Charts in Spain. Their last single, "Guardame Un Secreto," remained at the top of the charts for fifteen consecutive weeks. [ Read more ]

It has been over a year since we have released news regarding COOPER and with the release of their last single in June of 2007, “Guardame un Secreto” they dazzled fans and press to such an extent that it turned out to be the group’s most successful single to date. Throughout the first week on sale, it went directly to number 2 on the singles charts in Spain and maintained its status for more than twenty consecutive weeks. Now we have, “Lemon Pop,” the new COOPER single which fans have anxiously waited for with Alex showing the best of himself. He stays true to his beliefs, releasing his songs in small dosages, in going slowly, but surely, defending his concept of a nostalgic format and doing things his own way. In Alex’s own words, “Lemon pop is a sincere tribute to the [Lemon Pop] Festival in Murcia, as well as the other festivals which have helped us along the way, including FIB, Contempopranea, Ebrovisión, etc…besides, lemon pop is also a perfect bittersweet mix, like our songs: upbeat and swift melodies which at times, hide the sad and introspective words. ‘Bittersweet’ is the key word, I believe.” This is a clear recognition of the indie festivals throughout Spain and a quote which serves to also directly describe in two simple phrases the musical universe of COOPER.

COOPER makes a comeback with their upcoming concerts to present their latest hit single "Guárdame un secreto." Throughout the next few months, COOPER will perform live tunes such as "Canción de viernes," "Steph" or "Mi diario." This new EP adds to an already brilliant list of amazing albums which Cooper has delighted us with since the beginning.
In the first week that "Guárdame un secreto" was on sale, it hit number 2 on the list of Singles sold in Spain and it stayed on the charts for the following fifteen consecutive weeks.
