Some albums are a big deal every time they are reissued. Every time we bring back a LA CASA AZUL release, looking back at how Guille Milkyway’s career has developed, and what an incredible and multifaceted artist he has become, it is even more exciting to enjoy his first steps. That’s why we are rereleasing his first two albums again, with the attention to detail and affection that define Elefant Records editions.

First, we are bringing back that Double-LP that we released for the label’s 25th anniversary, that included not only that marvelous first Mini-LP, “El Sonido Efervescente De La Casa Azul”, but also an incredible collection of demos, previously unreleased tracks, and the live songs from the “Viaje A Los Sueños Polares” radio program’s party in May of 2000. The double vinyl is sky blue colour for the occasion. That incredible album that includes hits that are already timeless classics like “Cerca De Shibuya”, “Galletas” and “Chicle Cosmos”.

But we’re not stopping there. We are also rereleasing “Tan Simple Como El Amor”, with a gatefold cover (fold-out like the original), and in red vinyl, because red is the color of love. The album that came before the explosion, with gems like “Superguay”, “C’est Fini”, “En Noches Como La De Hoy” and “Como Un Fan”, and where Guille made it perfectly clear what [ Read more ]

REISSUES 2023 IN VINYL

“La Revolución Sexual” LP [Clear Blue Colour Vinyl – Limited Edition – Updated Cover]

“La Polinesia Meridional” DOUBLE-LP [Gatefold Sleeve – Orange Colour Vinyl – Limited Edition] /

For Elefant, talking about LA CASA AZUL is like talking about a dream that came true right before our very eyes. We have always been right alongside Guille Milkyway, arm in arm, enjoying the trajectory of a musical genius that has broken barriers with that personal, unique way of seeing music, turning it into a mass phenomenon, an incredible group, an unforgettable project within the pop panorama. That’s why we like to look back every so often and bring back one of their grand moments. Like this new reissue of “La Revolución Sexual”, on a gorgeous clear blue vinyl. We’re also re-releasing its immediate successor, “La Polinesia Meridional”, this time on an orange-colored double vinyl with a gatefold sleeve. Because “La Revolución Sexual” is an anthem that belongs, in its own right, to the collective consciousness and the history of pop music in this country. It is one of those works of art that transcends time and has been out of print on vinyl for ages. We know that many fans have been anxiously awaiting the chance to have these vinyls in their collection, and that’s why we have put so much care into every detail of these releases for yo [ Read more ]

We are running out of adjectives for Guille Milkyway and his capacity to build a beyond perfect repertoire of songs beat by beat, knowing how to assimilate new trends without ever betraying his own spirit that flies somewhere between hyper-melodic pop and the most euphoric dance music. But his latest single, “Prometo No Olvidar” is another example of his unfailing aim, like a 100.000-piece puzzle full of small details that makes something difficult seem easy. A perfect chorus, explosions of energy (like that cover illustration), DAFT PUNK, Cerrone and THE WEEKND, endless nights, vocoders and autotune. And that feeling that to live in his music is to live in an infinite paradise, which he has been building brick by brick, helping us forget about the world as it is and believe that there are better places out there. And anyone who has been to that paradise (in their house, on the dance floor, or in one of his marvelous concerts) can never forget it. And we still have that yearning, anxiously awaiting that new album that promises to be a new landmark in Spanish pop music. The timeless LA CASA AZUL.

Elefant Records continues to be the protagonist of the soundtracks of many of the new releases on video-streaming platforms. And this time in style. “In Love All Over Again” is the new series by Carlos Montero, creator of series such as “Élite” (which has more than 30 Elefant songs on its soundtrack), “The Mess You Leave Behind” (with 11 Elefant songs in its only season) or “Física Y Química”.

The first season of “In Love All Over Again” has eight episodes and has been released on Netflix last February 14th with the participation of Georgina Amorós, Franco Masini, Carlos González, Guillermo Toledo, Silvia Abril and many more actors and actresses that complete an incredible cast, and the direction of, among others, Carlota Pereda (currently on the front page for the award-winning “Piggy”) or Mateo Gil (“Nobody Knows Anybody”, “Blackthorn”, “The Minions of Midas”). On “In Love All Over Again” we can listen to up to 19 songs that have been released on our label, making up a soundtrack that features artists such as FAMILY, LA CASA AZUL, LA BIEN QUERIDA, JUNIPER MOON, LA MONJA ENANA, NOSOTRÄSH, LES TRÈS BIEN ENSEMBLE, COOPER and many more. The perfect musical backdrop for a funny, gentle and down-to-earth romantic comedy, with two protagonists who display superb chemistry. A joy to see and hear.

It’s a dream come true. A song straight from the minds of Soleá Morente and Guille Milkyway working together. Two of our brightest stars. And it also means getting into unexplored territory for both of them. Because what if we told you that they dove head first into writing an absolutely irresistible cumbiacategoría And that the song begins like a heartbreaking melodic Italian song with Spanish roots, like a duet between Raphael and Rocío Jurado at the height of the sixtiescategoría And that the chorus takes you to a rumba from LOS AMAYAcategoría And, of course, that it has some flamenco in it too (Soleá’s touch). And sure, it has a certain electronic dance spirit (Guille’s touch). And that the arrangements are just prodigious. And that each second is more surprising and exciting.

Soleá and Guille meet. They look into each other’s eyes. Yes, they have both just been the victims of their separate heartbreaks, and they find in each other the echo of their need to sing their sorrows at the top of their lungs. LAS NEGRIS get the party started with their palmas (traditional flamenco clapping) to this great production and composition from Guille. And the sorrows are blown away; you forgive and forgive yourself. The feeling of excitement about things to come returns. It is a fascinating song that embraces you and makes you dance.

TRACKLIST: 01 No Hay Futuro

Each time we have a new song from Guille Milkyway in our hands, the levels of joy are through the roof. It’s like tasting delicious food with your eyes covered. The first bite is full of the more powerful flavors, the direct ones, the ones that knock you out. With the second bite, you begin to notice that there is more going on, to discover those ingredients that don’t stand out immediately, but that are key for the texture and the final result. And each new bite brings a new nuance, a detail, something that makes the experience different every time, surprising, something you could never be bored of. In this age of Digital Singles, with Guille getting us used to savoring his songs one by one and spaced out, there is no better way to explain the experience. “No Hay Futuro”. That keyboard that seems to take us to sixties psychedelia (THE ZOMBIES!), the choruses, the clavinet that shoots us into the seventies, and then suddenly the bass drum kicks in and takes us to italo and disco music, and we can’t stop. And then we hear those vocoders, the BEACH BOYS start to come in, Moroder and Cerrone wait with a drink at the bar, Donna Summer is in the middle of the dance floor and Barbarella is about to arrive. The party begins, an apogee that never ends. The thousands of arrangements, the details, the horror vacui is an endless journey, a promise that we will never get bored, that each second is different. The end of the year is drawing near and with it, one of those events that is a part of the great collective expectations on these special dates: the Christmas Special of the “Cachitos De Hierro Y Cromo” show. As always, it will be full of surprises, this time with a tribute to the unforgettable Raffaella Carrà. One of the surprises this year will be an out-of-this-world collaboration between Soleá Morente and Guille Milkyway (LA CASA AZUL), who have an interpretation of “No Pensar En Ti”. The song was written by Nacho Canut and Carlos Berlanga in the eighties for Raffaella herself. The result, in addition to being aired on the “Cachitos” Christmas Special, will be released in digital format on December 31 at midnight by Elefant. And it is incredible.

The song is a tour de force that begins between pasodoble stylings and casiotones, and winds up with house-disco and vocoders, with Soleá in full-force diva-mode, and Guille playing up his horror-vacui with an absolutely fascinating collection of arrangements, sounds and effects. Pure fantasy. New proof of Soleá’s chameleon-like interpretative capacity and of Guille Milkyway’s infinite imagination as one of the most special and inimitable producers around in recent decades. Enjoy it and… Happy new year, everyone!

This is the kind of news that fills us with joy, that gives us butterflies in our stomachs and that feeling of euphoria. It’s what happens every time we get a new song from LA CASA AZUL, and even more so if it is the advance of a new era and a new album (that will be released in 2022). The thing is, “Entra En Mi Vida” is the gateway to so many things. Like that cover that shows us the logo the used for the first time on “La Revolución Sexual” (designed by Gregorio Soria and an absolute trademark for the group) like a new sunrise, tridimensional, titanic, splendid. New nuances of sound that continue to confirm that Guille is an exceptional and unique composer, capable of incorporating new sounds from the current musical scene, without losing even a drop of his own personality, reaching unexplored spaces and heights. That syncopated verse, that agile phrasing, rushed, almost hard to catch, could be a refractory mirror of the last snapshots of very well-known artists like DUA LIPA, THE NEIGHBOURHOOD and Demi Lovato, but above all it is also close to that new generation of artists that we like so much here at Elefant – INTERROGACIÓN AMOR, Maria Blaya, THE PIROUETTES, Arlo Parks, CLAUD, WORLWIDE PRINCESS, WHITEROSEMOXIE, Olalla.lux… But little by little the harmony opens, it begins growing (yes, those surges and ascents that are so his, because nobody else does that like he does) and the chorus c [ Read more ]

2019 has been a big year for LA CASA AZUL. “La Gran Esfera” has been the definitive confirmation that Guille Milkyway is an artist of reference both critically and publically, and has crowned this story of poetic justice that all of us who have followed his career since the beginning hoped would reach such a marvelous point. It has been a whirlwind of concerts, festivals, best of the year lists and sales lists, a marvelous tour in Mexico… And there is so much still to come, enjoy and discover.

But to bring this latest journey to an end, we present you with the video for “El Colapso Gravitacional”, the latest from “La Gran Esfera”, and an authentic wonder that in barely four minutes perfectly represents so many of the elements that make up the universe of LA CASA AZUL. This fantastic work is directed by Daniel Cuenca (CRISTINA QUESADA, RUSH WEEK, FITNESS FOREVER, THE PERFECT KISS…), and includes the stellar presence of Anna Castillo (“La Llamada”, “El Olivo”, “Viaje Al Cuarto De Una Madre”, “Paquita Salas”, “Arde Madrid” …). It is the story of a pop star (at times it seems like a recreation of Mina, one of Guille’s greatest loves) who disappears, overwhelmed by her own success, and is brought back to life by a being from outer space. There is a complex relationship between being and creator, where we can see some of the themes of existential anguish that fre [ Read more ]

We don’t know if Guille Milkyway imagined how far “La Revolución Sexual” would go when he began to create it. From becoming the trademark song from his eponymous third LP and an inevitable song for live performances, to suddenly almost being chosen to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. From being paid tribute to on one of the “Operación Triunfo” (Spain’s “X Factor”) galas, to having become the song the show used to close all the concerts in its return tour. It is famous on dance floors, festivals, parties, and anywhere music is the protagonist. “La Revolución Sexual” has been included on the soundtrack of so many movies and TV shows, and also on so many compilation albums – some related to Eurovision and euro fans (for whom it is still one of their favorite songs) and others related to Pride; in fact, it has become one of the trademark songs of the LGBTQIA community. José Corbacho sang it, imitating Guille, on the famous TV show “Tu Cara Me Suena”, and many other quiz shows like “Pasapalabra”, “Saber Y Ganar” and “Cifras Y Letras” have included questions about LA CASA AZUL’s huge hit.

That’s why Guille has decided to rediscover the song and, with all the experience he has acquired over the years as a sound technician and producer, to improve its sound, re-record his vocals, and make an even more solid final resu [ Read more ]

We finally have the new LA CASA AZUL album, “La Gran Esfera”, in our hands and it’s full of great hits and songs that invariably form part of a unique repertoire. This album is destined to mark a before and after in Guille Milkyway’s career, and it stands out as a hit on the dance floor where ever it plays. This is partly because of songs like “Podría Ser Peor”, which was the first advance for the album, and which is a total disco anthem that we are releasing now as a remix on a Digital Single with two versions – the normal one and an extended version. Like those NEW ORDER Singles in the eighties. So that there is not a dance floor in the world that doesn’t play a song of this stature.

It is really exciting to listen to such terrible and frustrating lyrics move to such a groove, with that untouchable disco spirit and those tremendously sunny melodies. It’s an explosion of emotions and euphoria on a remix that accentuates the nocturnal and summery spirit of the song. How easy it is for Guille to make us float and make us feel completely uninhibited! [ Read more ]
