Cooper remains at number 1 on the charts for yet another week (its the seventh week now!). "Lemon Pop," the new COOPER single could not have asked for a better journey, from its release and for seven consecutive weeks, it remains at NUMBER 1!

Few indie artists have managed to reach number 1 and even less have maintained this status for so many consecutive weeks headlining the Singles List.

Everything appears to be ready for the group’s takeoff once the new album is out in March 2009 and whose title is “Aeropuerto.” With a bit of patience, little by little, album to album and show to show, COOPER did it! [ Read more ]

Many are the ensembles who try their take on the sound of modern grooves, but unfortunately very few really devote their time to find a refreshing and cheerful style. After a twelve-year uninterrupted career, LOS SOBERANOS, ultimate representatives of the party lifestyle, are still proud bearers of the flag of fun. For all these years, they’ve given heart and soul to cover other bands’ hits and to recover the cream of Sixties music. “¡Fiesta sin fin!”, their new album, brings a new step forward, including five infectious tunes of their own that will leave no one indifferent: “Guapa”, “Pero te quiero”, “Un hombre tranquilo”, “La, La, La” (not to be mistaken with the Eurovision tune by Massiel) and “Siroco”.

The rest of the songs in the record, nine dynamic covers, frankly showing off their complete lack of pretentiousness and how they love to mess about. We find LOS SOBERANOS taking Manolo Díaz for a few drinks (“Bibí”), daringly having their take on a ballad by the great Rafael Martos “Raphael” (“Estuve enamorado”), paying tribute to their beloved BRINCOS (“Pareces gitana”), plunging headlong into the waters with MICKY Y LOS TONYS (No sé nadar”), vindicating LOS PASOS (“Nací de pie”), reminding us of a forceful tune by LOS HURACANES (“El calcetín”), deciding on Italian tonalit [ Read more ]

Haunted house Of all the groups launched in the past five years, without a doubt, AU REVOIR SIMONE is one of the most refreshing and succulent bands for true pure pop lovers. Restoring once again the spirit of our Singles Club (Club de Single), along with our idea of releasing exclusive singles of our favourite artists, we contacted the Brooklyn trio and enticed them with what you have in your hands, a delicious special edition seven inch vinyl in red, with an exquisite photo on the cover (courtesy of Anna Di Prospero, our favourite Italian photographer) which perfectly depicts the feminine universe of AU REVOIR SIMONE. Their influences include MODEST MOUSE, STEREOLAB, PAVEMENT, THE BEACH BOYS, Björk, BROADCAST, BELLE & SEBASTIAN, GUTHER, LALI PUNA and MS. JOHN SODA. In the autumn of 2003, they formed a group with just keyboards and antique synthesizers. Two delicious albums, various singles and a recent release of a compilation of covers and remixes are their legacy to date. This legacy has sparked passions around the world and has allowed them to tour half the globe, as well. A few of their songs have been included in the famous television series, “Grey’s Anatomy” and have been special guests of David Lynch at the signing of his book, “Catching [ Read more ]

It has been over a year since we have released news regarding COOPER and with the release of their last single in June of 2007, “Guardame un Secreto” they dazzled fans and press to such an extent that it turned out to be the group’s most successful single to date. Throughout the first week on sale, it went directly to number 2 on the singles charts in Spain and maintained its status for more than twenty consecutive weeks. Now we have, “Lemon Pop,” the new COOPER single which fans have anxiously waited for with Alex showing the best of himself. He stays true to his beliefs, releasing his songs in small dosages, in going slowly, but surely, defending his concept of a nostalgic format and doing things his own way. In Alex’s own words, “Lemon pop is a sincere tribute to the [Lemon Pop] Festival in Murcia, as well as the other festivals which have helped us along the way, including FIB, Contempopranea, Ebrovisión, etc…besides, lemon pop is also a perfect bittersweet mix, like our songs: upbeat and swift melodies which at times, hide the sad and introspective words. ‘Bittersweet’ is the key word, I believe.” This is a clear recognition of the indie festivals throughout Spain and a quote which serves to also directly describe in two simple phrases the musical universe of COOPER.

This single is one and only. COOPER is living it up right now, with more encouragement as the days go by and with four songs that de [ Read more ]

Over 20,000 people came together last Saturday, September 20th, in Barcelona to watch the live recording of the LA CASA AZUL concert for MTV. It was a very unique and special evening, with more than 20,000 folks crowding the stage, completely euphoric. It was nearly three o’clock in the morning when Guille and his androids took the stage, playing hit after hit including “La Revolución Sexual,” “Galletas,” “Esta Noche Solo Cantan Para Mi,” “Cerca de Shibuya”, songs which crowd-goers enjoyed dancing their socks off to, singing along in absolute bliss. A moment in time which will remain immortalized, thanks to the MTV cameras that captured every unique and special minute on tape.
