COLA JET SET is one of Elefant label’s national groups that are creating the greatest legion of fans in the Anglo-Saxon public, as anyone could see in their recent shows in the UK. That’s why, as a special present to their English fans, they are releasing a single with some of their most well-known songs translated into English, as well as a few covers of foreign groups. The band from Barcelona with a constantly growing roster of band members, which currently includes Ana (voice), Felipe (guitars), Ester and Ruth (backing vocals), Dani (bass), Alicia (voice and guitar), Joan (drums) and Manel (keyboards), gives a different nuance to their music with English phonemes. We can rediscover “En Esta Pista Ya No Se Puede Bailar” under the new title, “The Land Where We Can Dance Forever”. Song: Los Chicos Hoy Saltarán A La Pista (LA CASA AZUL)

It took many months of work but we can finally announce, with much joy and satisfaction, the release of “L-FUN 45 (Summer of love)”, the first independent musical videogame for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, a fun application that will get all of the label’s fans excited. The videogame is full of the Elefant universe and our groups. It was created and developed by Dolores Entertainment, a young and promising company that develops mobile phone applications and videogames, and that shares Elefant’s spirit of independent work and passion for music. Dolores Entertainment, who recently celebrated their first anniversary as a company, started their voyage with more classic-styled games with a more direct dynamic, like “Vectron” or “Spanish Chiringuito”. Now, they are official providers for TV3 and they are working on some different, very interesting projects that we’ll be hearing about soon, but L-FUN 45 is their most ambitious project so far.

L-FUN 45 is an interactive musical, a game where the music isn’t just an excuse to smash buttons, but instead it tells us a love story. The love story begins with a break-up, and includes friendship and summertime adventures. We are not, now that we’ve come this far, going to stop talking about Alex Díez’s incredible career, neither as the frontman of COOPER nor of the legendary LOS FLECHAZOS. His voice, his style, his character, everything that surrounds his legend, are still there and will continue to be, for everyone who is lucky enough to enjoy them. We are celebrating all of this, because we finally have what we were waiting for, a new collection of songs in a new, full-length album.

And COOPER’s songs speak for themselves; they speak about the mood and the situation of their author, and they transmit all of this in a magical and tremendously exciting way. But this time more than ever, it all comes together. Because “Mi universo” is probably Alex’s most personal album, and even the title is telling us so. The recording process was done with the greatest attention to every detail, in the legendary Konk Studios in London, which were founded at the beginning of 70s by Dave and Ray Davies (THE KINKS). Artists like BLUR, THE STONE ROSES, THE ARCTIC MONKEYS, SUEDE, SPIRITUALIZED, THE CHARLATANS, Elvis Costello, THE BEE GEES and, of course, THE KINKS themselves have recorded in there. 01] Spatial EditionThis edition has been ornately designed with the most advanced materials and the most revolutionary technology available on planet Earth. It is made of high density anodised dissolved aluminium, ultra-resistant and ultra-dynamic. This sound system is compatible with all stereos develops in the terrestrial solar system and other systems known outside of space- including the brand-new 4300 XRT multisensory system of Orbit Entertainment Ltd. It can be transported beyond the limits of the atmosphere and support speeds up to 4,000 km/second without the risk of disintegration or data corruption.

Only 10,000 copies of this special limited edition will be produced and it will be the first to go on sale.

The last night in 2011 programmed for Elefant Club will be on December 3rd, with performances by FITNESS FOREVER and PAPA TOPO, culminating the evening with these same artists as guest DJs, along with Luis Elefant. It will be a new chance to see Carlos Valderrama’s group after the marvelous summer hit single, “Con Fitness Forever En La Playa,” and the captivating performance in this year’s Lemon Pop Festival. We must not forget to mention the charming participation of two national icons which leave rivers of admiration behind them: Adrià and Paulita. For the closer, “Carrousel” is a revelation, musically speaking, within Alex Díez’s career; at moments it approaches THE STONE ROSES, with urgent, angry guitar arrangements. The structure is complex, constantly changing, with a high intensity levels right off the bat and a complete ecstasy that closes “Mi universe” on a high note. It also has dark lyrics, as dark as we’ve seen from the man who once fronted LOS FLECHAZOS, reaching the point of even being disturbing: “Desde ayer ya no brilla el sol / Pues su luz se diluye en tus lamentos / Desde ayer se apagó mi voz / Y no sé liberarte de este infierno / … /  Y gira el carousel por última vez” (The sun hasn’t shone since yesterday / because its lights is darkened by your sorrows / My voice has been silenced since yesterday / And I don’t know how to get you out of this hell /…/ And the carousel spins one last time)..

“La señal” is a song that shows us that all of these confessions are nothing more than open questions; the guitars are on fire and they are looking for their place with the KINKS themselves (who elsecategoría) and the best tradition of Spanish-language pop.

“Saltos de esqui” represents life without a safety net, with the clear and present idea: “Ya está aquí el invierno que mil veces yo soñé / Ahora siento su aliento en mi cara al descender” (Now the winter I dreamed of a thousand times is here / I feel its breath on my face as I descend), once again with dreamy choruses and harmonies full of fantasy.

Here at Elefant Records we have no doubt that “Mi Universo” will be a key album in Alex Díez’s career. The album will mark a new highpoint in the indispensable musician’s career, which is already full of hits and memorable achievements. Recorded in Konk Studios, which were founded by Dave and Ray Davies (THE KINKS), and where people like Elvis Costello, THE STONE ROSES, THE BEE GEES and BLUR, among many others, have also recorded, it proved to be the perfect environment to capture all of the magic in these new songs.
